Dealing With Anger – 5 Tips to Help

“For every minute you remain angry, you give up sixty seconds of peace of mind”. Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Having anger or being an angel? Hand turns a dice and changes the word “anger” to “angel”. And you can change the word to angle too! A new angle on anger. 🙂

I don’t know about you, but I find myself experiencing anger lately. Last night, in particular, I started feeling anger. I am sure this is happening more than normal for some of us due to the pandemic we are in.

I am normally a positive and JOYful person, but I found myself getting angry. I would think about something and then add to the pot, and my anger started to grow larger.

But by this morning I had a break through and was able to shift it…..

I woke up feeling the feelings from the night before and I realized that I no longer wanted to experience them. They did not feel good to me, and in that instant I knew I wanted to pivot out of that situation. So here is what I did.

5 Things That I Did To Move Through My Anger

  1. I ACKNOWLEDGED and recognized that I indeed felt anger. In fact my daughter and I discussed this openly just a few minutes ago. I told her how I had gotten caught up in anger but that I now realize that the anger is not serving me and that I don’t like it. She then shared some feelings of anger she had yesterday and we each talked out our feelings. And then we smiled, felt relieved and carried on to our new day.
  2. I DECIDED that anger does not serve me. It only keeps me in fear and pain and that I do not like. No. No. No. I choose JOY on this road trip of life. 🙂
  3. I FELT it, but I did not hang on to it. I experienced it (energy in motion) but I did not stay in the experience. I MOVED through it to the other side.
  4. I used AWARENESS to realize what was going on and I accepted it, but I also made a conscious choice to pivot to a new experience and a new outcome.
  5. I did not JUDGE myself for feeling this way. I observed and I made choices to alter the experience and move through to a more positive place.

So I turned the angle on my anger and turned it into an angel 🙂

And it is interesting to note that the moment I shifted and cleared my anger the sun came out. 🙂

If you are feeling anger or other feelings that are not making you feel good at this time, I hope you find these 5 pivot points helpful. I know many people are suffering right now. Stay strong, know that you are loved and keep the faith that there are new and better days awaiting us.

All my Best,

🌷 It Has Never Been More Important to ♥ Be Happy ♥ 9 Ways to Cultivate More Happiness In Your Life 🌷

Happiness and Emotional Health

When your mind is continuously focused on negative thoughts or when you spend all day under stress or in worry and fret, it influences how you think, feel, and act.

When you are happy and have JOY in your life, this also influences how you think, feel, and act.

One of the biggest reasons to shoot for happiness and JOY when it comes to your health, is that you will protect and support your emotional health and well-being. When we feel supported in life, it can make a huge difference, even if that support is coming from ourselves!

Happiness is an indicator that things are going well for you and that your emotional health is stable. Your emotions not only affect how you feel and your behaviors, but they also influence your physical health. So, if you are unhappy and your emotional health is low, then your physical health will suffer, too.

Your emotions can influence your blood pressure, your blood sugar level, your heart rate, your immune system, and much more. When you allow your emotions to control your choices, you might end up making unhealthy choices in what you eat or drink as well as other lifestyle decisions that influence your health. Allowing negative feelings or stress to dominate your emotional health can lead to a lack of self-care and influences everything in your life, including your well-being.

This can also affect all of those around you and it can become very emotionally stressful for everyone as a by-product. The happier and more JOYful we can be, helps not only us to feel, act, and think better, but it helps everyone around us as well… even our pets, believe it or not 🙂

Find ways everyday to cultivate more happiness in your life. Here are a few tips:

  1. Allow yourself to be happy. Many people, because they are feeling low or blue, believe that they are not worthy of happiness. Command and declare out loud to yourself that you indeed deserve and are worthy of happiness.
  2. Work on building your self-esteem. The more confident you are in yourself, the more likely you are to be happy and make positive choices for your health and well-being.
  3. Be flexible and adaptable to change. When you resist change, you will find yourself frustrated and unhappy and still having to deal with your new reality. Choosing to go with the flow helps you accept change and move forward. This one is especially important at this time.
  4. Live in the present. Thinking too much about past mistakes or worrying about the future will not improve your happiness and will only lower your sense of well-being. Learn to appreciate what is currently going well in your life.
  5. Learn to cope with stress. Finding ways to reduce or minimize stress is excellent, but stressful things will inevitably happen. Be sure you have strategies for dealing with stress in your life.
  6. Maintain relationships. Having a support system and people you care about will help increase your happiness and improve your well-being. And remember YOU can be a support system to yourself. Never forget that. It starts at home 😉
  7. Get outside. Your body needs sunlight for Vitamin D, which helps with your mood, and spending time outside lowers stress and improves your outlook. I have written many posts about the healing power of the sun and you can read those here: https://maggieholbik.blog/category/sunshine/
  8. Get regular exercise. Exercise not only improves your physical health but helps you reduce stress and allows you to feel emotionally more balanced. And it always just ‘feels good’ to move your body and to clear your mind.
  9. Learn to recognize and process your emotions. Neglecting your feelings can lead to extremely negative consequences for your health, so be sure you are paying attention to how you feel. The secret is to acknowledge your feelings or the feeling you are feeling, but to not stay ‘stuck’ in it. Feel it, address it and move through it. In my many years of my Life Coaching practice this one tip has been monumental in helping people when working with their emotions.

Final Thoughts

Just engaging in these simple, daily routines and habits can help improve your outlook and allow you to feel happier in life, which will enhance your emotional health immensely. And always remember to be kind to yourself. If you need help practicing kindness for yourself and others, I have some posts on that too. Here is the link to those.

Bloating In Kids

Bloating can happen for a number of reasons but when it comes to kids, they often don’t know how to tell you that they are in fact ‘bloated’.

Definition of Bloating

noun

  1. a swollen state caused by retention of fluid or gas.”she suffered from abdominal bloating”

There are a variety of causes for bloating:

. Extra intake of air due to nervousness or the holding of breath

. Food sensitivities or allergies

. Lactose Intolerance

. Not enough water

. Insufficient beneficial bacteria

. Eating too quickly and poor food choices

. Constipation

One of the best things you can do with your children to help, is to have open and natural conversations. Children should be taught to ‘listen to their bodies’ and to observe how they feel after they eat certain foods, for example.

Another excellent topic is the “Poop”topic. Make this a natural subject in your house. Learning about how often and what is deemed irregular is very important for kids to learn. Help them to identify if they are having changes in their bowel movements or if they are indeed constipated. Constipation is a huge issue with kids these days. Sometimes it helps to celebrate ‘good poops’ because it encourages the naturalness of having bowel movements.

Another helpful idea for kids that is beneficial all around and that also helps with gut and bowel health, is to encourage and implement lots of fruits into their diet. Here is a link to past posts that I have done on fruit and recipes etc. https://maggiesvitamins.wordpress.com/category/fruit/

Here is a past one on dehydration that might be helpful as well https://maggiesvitamins.wordpress.com/2019/04/29/dehydration-in-kids/

And let’s not forget that sore tummys are sometimes anxiety based. I have written about that too and you can read up on it here. Anxiety is especially high at this time of being at home due to COVID-19. https://maggiesvitamins.wordpress.com/2019/01/30/sore-tummy-6-ways-to-help-your-child-with-anxiety/

One of my favorite products for kids and gut health is Aloe Vera Juice. I have found one that I use with kids and I have yet to meet one who did not love it. The Strawberry Kiwi flavor seems to be a hit with kids. 🍓🍓🍓🍓

Here is a link to that product if you are interested in taking a look. Aloe Vera is a great for supporting the immune system as well and is extra helpful at this time in history. Here is the link https://www.shop.com/THESHOPCONSULTANT/Ultimate+Aloe+trade+-603891601-p+.xhtml?credituser=R1159126

The Healing Benefits of Garlic

It is kind of interesting that I have been on a garlic craze of late and have been using it in everything.

Today I opened a book up called “The Healing Benefits of Garlic” and turned to this page:

“Animals seem to have an innate sense of understanding that garlic will do them good when they become sick. Consider this curious piece of news in the March 1961 issue of Atlantic Monthly, which told of a flu epidemic striking Cape Town, South Africa. Baboons who became sick with the respiratory disease were seen burrowing for wild garlic and gorging themselves with it! Rural settlers sick with the flu themselves, upon observing this strange behavior, started hunting for it, too, and found considerable relief for their raging fevers and congestions.”

Pretty cool right? I think I’ll keep on a cookin with dat garlic. 🙂

Stay healthy and happy everyone 🙂

The Time is Now …. to let it go….

One of the best things that we can do for our health, right now, is to let go of any anger and resentment we have for anyone or anything.

I am not going to pull up a whole bunch of studies here to back this up but I could pull up many. I am going to keep it simple.

We know that anger and resentment are enemies to our spirit, our happiness and to our immune system. Right now, more than ever, we need to be supporting our immune systems.

With social distancing and not being able to see other people that we do care about and maybe even some we miss but we hold resentment toward, this is the perfect time to bring resolution to these situations.

I am sure we are all thinking deeply about our lives and what they mean to us and this includes our relationships. I am sure we all will agree that loving and peaceful relationships are the ultimate gift here on earth.

If you have no way to initiate resolution with someone that you are holding anger toward, or you feel helpless as to how to let it go, just take a baby step and let it go in your own heart 💜, knowing it does not serve you, especially at this time when the best thing we can do is anything that is good for our immune system.

Right now we need more Peace, more LOVE, more JOY, and more of anything that is healing and helpful to every cell of our bodies and is peaceful to our minds.

I hope you find that peace if you need it and I send strength and visions of health and happiness are sent your way, now and always and in all ways.

Love Maggie
