Vitamin C TidBit – Asthma

Vitamin C has so many benefits including anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties which makes it beneficial when it comes to Asthma.ย

Vitamin C has been shown to prevent attacks and lessens symptoms during an attack.

Research studies have found that some asthmatics with low levels of vitamin C experience more asthma symptoms, which again suggests that supplementation might improve asthma.

Vitamin C is so good for the immune system in general, and there has never been a better time in history to jump on board the vitamin C train.

If you need any help with dosages or supplement choices for Vitamin C or any other supplements, that can be delivered right to your door at this time, please reach out. I would love to help.

Feel free to reach out at any time.

A Simple Exercise to Help With Anxiety

“Compassion for myself is the most powerful healer of them all.”

Theodore Isaac Rubin

We are in a time of transition. I believe it can be a positive transition and I believe we will be in a better place when we arrive at the other side of this trying time. But some of us might need some help to bridge this transition. Compassion can help when fears are high and anxiety runs wild.

Can you maybe find one aspect or one area of your life that you can feel compassion for yourself? Perhaps you are having more anxiety than normal right now. Can you talk to yourself with compassion and reassure the vulnerable you that things will be okay?

Having compassion for yourself, especially at this time, is hugely powerful. Even if you can only muster up a small amount, it will do great amounts of good.

Talk to Your Inner Child

Sometimes it is helpful to talk to yourself as though you are 5 or 10 years old. For example you could say something like “Suzy, I know you are scared, but I am here looking out for you and we will get through this.” Or “Joe, we’ve been through a lot but we have always survived and become better because of it, and this is no different. I’ve got your back Buddy”.

Remember to have compassion for yourself and even if you think this exercise is goofy, just try it. I promise it will make you smile and help you. ๐Ÿ™‚

I am sending Love and Compassion to all of you who are reading this right now. And I am also thinking of doing some Zoom Video Sessions to help people with using this transition time to actually find JOY in their life and to lighten their loads when it comes to fear and anxiety. I will keep everyone posted on those, but in the meantime more compassion is in order! ๐Ÿ™‚

Vitamin Tidbits

Vitamin TidBits

The word vitamin first appeared in dictionaries as recent as 1912. Before vitamins were discovered doctors recommend food itself as a therapy but it was quite basic. For example to eat carrots for vision and to eat citrus fruits to prevent scurvy.

Scientists have discovered and labelled 13 vitamins that are considered essential for health – essential because our bodies need them and they do not manufacture these nutrients. This means that these vitamins must come from food or from supplements.

There you go. I hope you enJOYed today’s Vitamin tidbit. ๐Ÿ™‚

Vitamin C is the most widely used supplement and is good for many things.

It is responsible for the formation, maintenance, and repair of collagen, the substance that forms the foundation of skin, ligaments, cartilage, vertebral discs, joint linings, capillary walls, and the bones and teeth. And these are just a few things this vitamin does. #VitaminCtidbits

Wow. We can see (ใฃโ—”โ—กโ—”) why it is so important to get our vitamin C. ๐Ÿ™‚

Lemon TidBits! ๐Ÿ‹

๐Ÿ‹Lemons can be kept at room temperature for around 8 to 12 days give or take. When I make my morning lemon water, I like to have a room temperature lemon. I then roll it with the palm of my hand to get the inner juices flowing. Rolling your lemon helps to break down the internal fibers in the lemon and release the juice.

You can also store lemons in your refrigerator if you need to keep them longer. Just make sure that they are not jammed together. It is best to have them in a container that allows air to circulate. Think of how they often come in mesh bags…. this is a clue as to how to store your lemons.๐Ÿ‹

Hemp ‘Milk’ You Can Make at Home Fast & Inexpensive!

Here is a easy recipe to make a form of ‘milk’ at home that takes about 30 seconds or less to make once you get the ingredients gathered together.

The great part is that it is super healthy, easy to make, cost effective (cheap!), and sustainable which is perfect for times like this when people might have to stay at home due to the Coronavirus.

The finished ‘mylk’

The Recipe & What You Need to Make This Delicious Milk

So here is what you need and feel free to change it up anyway you like. I cannot stress enough that recipes are always adaptable and it is perfectly fine and fun to be creative with them!

1/3 cup hemp hearts

1 – 2 pitted dates

1 tsp of vanilla or 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract * play with this to your liking. Make it YOUR recipe

3 cups water

Throw in your blender and blend and you have milk. ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s that easy.

Some Variations:

You can add in maple syrup or switch out the dates for maple syrup or have both. You can add in cinnamon. Yesterday I took some of this milk and added it to coconut milk and added more maple syrup and cinnamon and blended and added it to my coffee for a dairy free option and Oh My Goodness is was Soooo good! My kid loved it so much she had 3 small glasses! And she can be picky… just sayin. ๐Ÿ™‚

Benefits

And the health benefits of hemp hearts or seeds are enormous! Here are some of the nutrients:

Hemp seeds contain an impressive array of  vitamins and minerals and are especially rich in:

  • vitamin E
  • magnesium
  • phosphorous
  • potassium

They are also a good source of iron, zinc, and B vitamins, including:

  • niacin

lemons, Natural Cleaners, sunshine, vinegar

๐ŸŒž Sunshine Cleaner ๐ŸŒž

Lemons soaking in a jar of vinegar and sitting in the Sun

๐ŸŒž I so love lemons! ๐Ÿ‹I so love ๐Ÿ’›the sun! ๐ŸŒž

What better time than now to learn how to make your own cleaner that couldn’t be easier to make and has so many benefits?

This is just a mixture of my leftover lemons from my morning lemon water, and thrown in a jar with vinegar! It will sit in this jar for a couple of weeks. After that you just scoop out the lemons and add water to the blend you like. Usually people go for 50/50 … 50 percent water and 50 percent vinegar.

I put the jar in the sun๐ŸŒž to take a picture this morning and then thought heck I am going to leave it in the sun during the day to infuse it with sunshine awesomeness too ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐ŸŒž And then I thought why not call it Sunshine Cleaner? Yes!!! ๐ŸŒž Sunshine Cleaner it is. ๐Ÿ™‚

Once your concoction is brewed, you can put your 50/50 formula in a spray bottle and you are good to go!

Use it anywhere. I can’t wait to clean my cell phone screen with it. The lemons help counteract the strong vinegar smell and note that both lemons and vinegar have amazing properties to disinfect, eliminate odors, combat bacteria and more! You just can’t go wrong with this one and at a time when everyone is panicking because of sold old sanitizers.

Eat lots of lemons, limes, oranges to help boost your health and to uptake nutrients like Vitamin C and then use the byproducts to make your disinfectant and inexpensive cleaner that is good for everything! I am currently making a batch with lemons, limes and oranges cause why not? ๐Ÿ™‚

As a sidenote, I love how the Universe always provides. The other day I was at the grocery store and saw a big bottle of vinegar on sale for just over a dollar and thought to grab it even though it wasn’t on my list so when the thought came to me to make this cleaner I had the vinegar right there and ready. So of course I said my favorite line “Thanks Uni”. ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you have enJOYed today’s dose of Sunshine ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐ŸŒž ๐ŸŒž ๐ŸŒž ๐ŸŒž ๐ŸŒž ๐ŸŒž ๐ŸŒž

Vitamin C & The Coronavirus

More good news being shared about the power of Vitamin C!

Vitamin C is something I believe in and recommend for overall health and well -being. As you will learn from this video by Dr. Cheng, therapeutic doses can do wonders for situations like viruses and cancer.

In fact, IV Vitamin C therapy is very common and effective, but anyone can benefit from Vitamin C through foods and supplementing.

I highly recommend taking the time to watch this video!

Dr. Cheng talks about Vitamin C & the Coronovirus

Have a great day everyone! I am off to gobble up some more Vitamin C ๐Ÿ™‚ If you have any questions about where to source quality vitamin C and/or best practices, please let me know. I am always happy to help.

Clean Carbs

When I run across information that I resonate with, I like to post it somewhere for future use.

Today I ran across this from Anthony Williams, The Medical Medium, and I agree wholeheartedly, so I thought I would share here on MaggiesVitaminsBlog

Critical Clean Carbs or CCC

“Critical Clean Carbohydrates (CCC) is the name I have given to the healthy carbohydrates that provide our organs, tissues, muscles, and cells with the glucose they need to help us stay alive and thrive.

CCC are:

โ€ข Fruit
โ€ข Raw Honey
โ€ข Potatoes and sweet potatoes
โ€ข Winter squash
โ€ข Coconut water

The critical glucose we get from CCC:

โ€ข Protects the nervous system
โ€ข Stops the brain from shrinking
โ€ข Builds muscles
โ€ข Protects the heart
โ€ข Is vital for liver function
โ€ข Protects the adrenals
โ€ข Helps you cope with stress
โ€ข Is critical for healing
โ€ข Feeds every cell in the body

We all need CCC. Without glucose, we wonโ€™t stay alive. Unfortunately, so many people are dealing with low glucose and glycogen reserves and itโ€™s affecting their health without them knowing. How do we run  out of the liverโ€™s glucose and its stored version, glycogen? An overabundance of stress to the liver, which can come from many different sources. Plus, even if youโ€™re eating what seems like enough CCC, thereโ€™s also obstacles to glucose absorption, which almost everyone faces due to the diets we have grown up on and the way we are told to eat today, such as the hyper focus on including fats and eating a high-fat diet (which is synonymous with a high-protein diet). This way of eating blocks critical glucose absorption. “

I am keeping this post short today but feel free to do more research on this and also read my prior blogs posts on the importance of liver health. And be sure to eat lots of all of these foods mentioned. ๐Ÿ™‚ And enJOY those CCC’S!

The Coronavirus – A Chance to Reevaluate How We See Things

We are in challenging times here on earth and sometimes that brings about fear and change. Change is not necessarily a bad thing.

Not to minimize this virus, but if we think about it, more people die every day from gun shot wounds and drug overdoses….

So, what if we decided to use the current situation to reevaluate our own life and maybe start to feel a little more empowered rather than fearful?

What do I mean?

Well, we could decide that life really is worth living and is here for us and offers us amazing adventures and beautiful JOYful moments and experiences. And maybe we declare to ourselves that we do indeed want to experience these amazing offerings available to us. So could this be a catalyst for us to make more positive changes in our lives? ๐ŸŒป

Changes like these, but not limited to:

. Being happier and more positive because that is super awesome for our immune system and our overall health!

. Stepping up our game when it comes to daily activities that can boost our immune systems and enhance our health.

. Things like walking, laughing, eating more fruits ๐Ÿ‰ and vegetables, getting out in nature, turning off the news, supplementing with things like Vitamin C and Zinc, following our passions, hugging our babes, writing poetry, etc. etc. etc. Anything that enhances our health and/or makes us feel good, helps. ๐Ÿ™‚

. Turning to โ™ฅ Love โ™ฅ and away from Fear! Personally, I am ramping up my game in that department. More Love, More Kindness, More JOY, More … More … More….. More FEELING GOOD โ—ฆโ€ขโ—โ—‰โœฟ ฤปแต’ืฉั” โœฟโ—‰โ—โ€ขโ—ฆ

. Focusing on the things in life that matter most.

The list here is endless. It is simply deciding to use this current situation to make changes that give us a sense of peace and help us to actually become proactive and to make changes that are positive, beneficial and life enhancing! It’s like turning the tables from a bad thing to a good thing.

We can use this exact situation to help us to get clear on what we really want in our lives, and to get healthier, so that we can be stronger and more able to do those things that we love. We can โ™ฅ celebrate โ™ฅ the fact that our bodies, minds and spirits will become stronger as the result of our efforts. This is turn will assist us in becoming a stronger force in handling pathogens like viruses and bacteria. These things come along every day, so it is wise to be better prepared through a positive mindset and a stronger body.

You just can’t lose by adopting some of the principles mentioned. I hope you do adopt more of them into your life. I sure am and I am stronger and happier than ever. หœโ€ยฐโ€ข.หœโ€ยฐโ€ข Full speed ahead. โ€ขยฐโ€หœ.โ€ขยฐโ€หœ

I leave you with one final thought:

Perhaps you can use this current state of affairs, to see how precious life is and why you do not want to waste one second in fear or in survival thinking. Time is precious so spend your moments in JOY as much as you can, do the things you LOVE and become a master of your moments.

Blessings to all…

Maggie
