Celery Juice & Ear Infections

Ear infections are a nuisance and can be very painful.

In Anthony Williams book, “Celery Juice”, he says that ear infections are causes by the Streptococcus or Strep for short.

Anthony refers to most ear infections starting in childhood and often repeat rounds of antibiotics are used. He shares that Strep tends to build immunity to anitbiotics which would explain the resistance we see with ear infections to both healing and in that they recurr often.

Anthony says: “When strep is inside the ear in any way, it means it is in the lymphatic system. Celery juice’s sodium cluster salts are able to enter the lymphatic system quickly, easily, and efficiently – within hours of consumption. These cluster salts seek and destroy strep they find there to reduce the risk of future ear infections.

Once again celery juice is something that is so beneficial and is something I personally ingest on a regular basis.

heavy metals, lead

Heavy Metals

Heavy metals are a huge issue in our world today. Even the elementary schools in Ontario, where I reside, have recently been studied and revealed unsafe levels of lead in their drinking water.

Link to article re: Ontario Schools and Lead

Heavy Metals are no small matter.

I found this in Anthony Williams book “Medical Medium Celery Juice”

“Heavy metals and heavy metal oxidation are undiscovered leading causes of brain fog, memory loss, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism as well as sever mental and physical deterioration such as Alzheimer’s, ALS, and Parkinsons.”

High levels of toxic metals like  lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic, nickel, and aluminum, inhibit the bodies ability to process and assimilate specific nutritional elements that are essential to good health. ” Anthony Williams

Heavy metals are just plain nasty and the problems from them are getting worse. One of the best ways to determine your heavy metal load as well as nutrient deficiency is through Hair Mineral Analysis. Here is a link to more info on that:

Just Stop & Rest For a Few Minutes….

Image of young man lying on sofa and having rest

When we least feel like resting because we are ‘too busy’ is probably when we need it most. Even if we take 5 minutes just to sit or rest, it helps a lot!

The next time you are feeling frazzled or overwhelmed, take a little time out to just stop. When we are in Go Go Go mode, adrenaline is being produced constantly and this is not healthy for the body or mind. There are so many people out there suffering from adrenal exhaustion and overwhelm.

Remember to take time out and to breath. 🙂

celery juice, Gallstones, liver, liver health

Gallstones

So many people suffer from these nasty and painful stones. What the heck are they anyway?

Gallstones are hardened deposits of digestive fluid that can form in your gallbladder. Your gallbladder is a small, pear-shaped organ on the right side of your abdomen, just beneath your liver. The liver is key when it comes to gallstones. The gallbladder holds a digestive fluid called bile that’s released into your small intestine.

Gallstones range in size from as small as a grain of sand to as large as a golf ball. Some people develop just one gallstone, while others develop many gallstones at the same time.

Gallstones can be extremely painful.

In Anthony William’s book “Celery Juice”, he talks about how gallstones are created in the gallbladder but what creates them comes from the liver! When we have a toxic and overburdened liver, the liver cannot do its job. The liver is not meant to handle all that it does in this day and age. It has to deal with breaking down proteins and fats, viral sludge, bacteria, heavy metals, chemical compounds and more!

Anthony explains that when the liver gets overloaded it may pass along some of its overload to the gallbladder and thus passing along toxic material into the gallbladder. Because the gallbladder is cooler than the liver stones can be formed.

The good news is that once again celery juice may be of benefit. The mineral salts or sodium clusters salts as Anthony calls them, can help to break down the gallstones.

The more research I do on celery juice and its benefits the more impressed I am and the more I strive to drink it everyday. You just can’t lose in my opinion but only gain. One need only Google celery juice to see the millions of positive testimonials emerging. Wow. Awesome.

And of course if you are suffering from what you may suspect is gallstones, please consult your health care provider and follow their guidance. This blog post is for information purposes only.

I would also recommend checking for the presence of heavy metals in your body. For more info: Heavy Metals & Heavy Metal Testing

Food Prep Hacks, Healthy Eating

Shock Your Broc!

I was just prepping some food for dinner tonight and thought “Hey, why don’t I share this hack just in case there are others who are unaware of it”. So here you go.

The Green Broccoli Hack. 🙂

The best way to cook broccoli is to steam it until it’s just tender, but not cooked or over cooked. Or better yet, the way YOU like it 🙂 But either way it is always nicer to have green, green, broccoli. So how do you do it?

I just use a simple steaming pan like this with about an inch of water in the bottom pan. Put the broccoli in the steamer pan part and top with the pot lid. Start out on high and keep and eye on it and lower it is you like. You just need steam so that is really your goal. And it does not take long so keep you eye on it!

Everyone should invest in one of these pans. If you don’t have one but you have a metal strainer you can try that with one of your current pots too. Learn to be open minded when cooking and try improvising when you have to.

The strainer pan sits inside a pot of the same size

Once it is steamed to how you like it, right away put it into a cold water bath. I use cold water with a few ice cubes.

Broccoli in a bowl of cold water with ice – getting shocked 🙂

Once the initial shock wears of your broccoli you can transfer it to another dish for saving for later or you can add the broccoli into whatever you are using it for. If you are going to have it later you can dip it in hot water to warm or just steam it for a few minutes to reheat.

I hope you found this helpful and let me know how you enJOY your green, green broccoli. 🙂

cancer, Fruit, Nutrition

Fruit Soup You Say? I say YES!

If you follow me at all when it comes to my nutritional beliefs you will know that I am a lover of fruit and becoming even more so.

I read an article yesterday talking about the body needing natural sugars and when it doesn’t get what it needs, it can cause cells to divide. You know what that means… Cancer! Now I am not going to go into any scientific references here because this is simply me talking about how much I believe in fruit to give us nourishment, nutrients and the natural sugars we need. I have written about this many times.

Today I wanted to share with you my fruit hack that is both pleasing to eat and better yet kid and hubby approved, which is why I now simply make a good sized pot of it later in the morning and leave it on the stove for that moment when my hungry daughter walks through the door after school and when hubby pops in the house sometime in the afternoon as he usually does. This of course, after I eat my delicious bowl of deliciousness. 🙂

Today’s ‘Fruit Soup’ as I call it has blueberries (always wild blueberries), chopped cantaloupe, a chopped apple from the neighbor’s apple tree, two mashed frozen bananas and some maple syrup. I do not have a daily recipe and anything goes. It is soup remember? lol and in soup anything that you have on hand works in this case. Today I threw in the maple syrup because I’m guessing that apple from the neighbor’s tree was a tad sour.

Throw everything together in a pot and simmer it down and then it’s done. It is just enJOY time then. And it is ALWAYS good. Everytime I eat it I feel my body saying “Wow this is amazing!”

Here are a few pics of the raw chopped start and then the simmered down result.

Raw chopped fruit
Cooked Fruit Soup always Yummy!

I hope you too start incorporating more of this life giving, life saving, body loving, nutritious, and delicious fruit into your daily diet.

Here are some links to more fruit advocacy posts if you want to dig deeper … Oh and one for my banana hack too. 🙂 That’s handy for sure. 🙂

Labrador Tea & Mercury Removal

This summer I was fortunate enough to meet Joseph Pitawanakwat from The Creators Garden. You can read his bio here

It was a fascinating day spent learning both lecture style and out in the bush hands on learning about some medicinal plants that we are fortunate enough to have here in and around The Great Lakes.

Although the focus that day was not specifically about Labrador Tea, I did find his blog post about it and it blew me away! Especially for the fact of his reference to Mercury removal from the body and brain, as I work with clients and help them with identifying the presence of heavy metals in the body and brain and in the removal of these nasty buggers.

His blog post is loaded with good info about the benefits of Labrador Tea and covers all about mercury and how difficult in can be to remove from the brain. *Labrador Tea to the Rescue* Here is the link:

You can read the full article but here is a snippet of just some of the other amazing benefits of Labrador Tea from Joe’s blog post:

Labrador tea at concentration levels that of a cup a mild tasting tea improves insulin sensitivity by reducing blood glucose levels by 13%, reduced the response to oral glucose tolerance test by 18.2% and reduced plasma insulin by 65%. Also induces a 42% reduction in hepatic triglyceride levels, Stimulates glucose metabolism (akt pathway) by 55% and increases GLUT4 (skeletal muscle glucose transporter) expression by 54%. All while improving renal function and lowering adipogenesis.

I for one will be heading out to the bush pronto to find what I need to make this tea. I already have an idea of who will take me and show me what I need. I will share back with you all on how that goes.

If you are at all concerned, (and you should be) about heavy metals and would like to learn more about the best way to test for the presence of heavy metals in the body as well as nutrient deficiencies which are often caused by the evidence of heavy metals in the body (heavy metals can displace minerals), here is a link to what I use with my clients:

I would love to hear any and all feedback you have on using Labrador Tea. I think it is quite common. It is my wish that more of us tap into the power of these plants medicines.

Chickpeas, medical medium, micronutrients

Chickpea Flour – Awesome!

I discovered using Chickpea flour about a year ago. I love chickpeas or garbanzo beans as they are also called so I just knew I would love the flour too!

Unlike all-purpose flour, chickpea flour is high in protein, fibre and micronutrients, while being low in carbohydrates and calories. Half a cup of chickpea flour contains an impressive 11 grams of protein, 5 grams of fibre, and nutrients like folate, iron, magnesium and zinc.

Chickpea flour is also heart-healthy. Chickpeas are high in soluble fibre as well as phytosterols (plant compounds that resemble cholesterol), both of which help lower LDL Cholesterol of Bad Cholesterol. I think of LDL as “Lousy Cholesterol” and HDL as Healthy Cholesterol. Reducing cholesterol can help lower blood pressure, thereby protecting against heart attack and stroke. Chickpeas also contain polyphenols, such as flavonoids, which have antioxidant properties and are anti-inflammatory.

It is great to use as an egg substitute when it comes to egg dishes like omelets, stratas and frittatas.

Here is a recipe from the Medical Medium that looks easy and can be adapted to any vegetable that you like.

Chickpea Quiche Recipe by Anthony Williams, The Medical Medium

And as I always say have Fun with this stuff. Cooking is creative… think outside of the box and have fun adapting recipes to suit your style.
